I would like to know more about some Scottish customs and traditions and to find out why they are different from those in England.

Scotland may be close to England geographically, but its customs and traditions are very different from those south of the border.

Scots are proud of their national identity.

Despite a relatively small population of around five million, a very large diaspora exists in England and also around the world, especially in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
