Beckham Criticised 贝克汉姆受到批评

David Beckham has come under fire 遭到谴责from his Los Angeles Galaxy teammate 队友 Landon Donovan for what he sees as a lack of commitment 缺少职业奉献精神 to the club.

Beckham, who has recently returned to Los Angeles from five months on loan 出借 at Italian team AC Milan, was also described as being stingy 吝啬, selfish 自私, and having a negative influence 负面影响 on the players around him.

Landon Donovan, who is the captain of the United States international side 队, made the comments in an interview for a book called The Beckham Experiment.

But Beckham hit back 回击 at Donovan for criticising him in public 公开的, without talking to him face-to-face 面对面first.

"It is unprofessional in my eyes," said Beckham, who plans to speak to Donovan in person 本人 soon. When Beckham says "in my eyes", he means in my opinion, or as I see it.

Landon Donovan also thought Beckham should try harder for someone who is paid so much:

"Does the fact that he earns that much more money come into it有关? Yeah. If someone's paying you more than double anybody in the league, the least we expect最少期待 is that you show up出现 to every game, whether you are suspended 停赛 or not. Show up and train hard刻苦训练, show up and play hard竭尽全力踢球."

He said he thought Beckham's commitment had waned 衰退了 after the departure of coach Ruud Gullitt last year.

Donovan said he didn't regret making the comments but he regretted the way they came out in public first, and looked forward to the chance to speak to Beckham one-on-one一对一.

Beckham said he would not be read the unofficial book, which he dubbed as "just another one on the shelf ".

LA Galaxy played their first game of the new Major League Soccer (MLS) season 赛季on Saturday and Beckham returns for his first training session on Monday.

Asked how he would adjust to the pace 适应步调of MLS after playing in Italy he said, "It's not going to be difficult because we've got talent 人才 on our team.

"I think the experiences I've had can only help this team."
